In short

• AstroLagan helps you learn Vedic astrology (Jyotish) from your own birth chart. It is for educational purposes only.
• Nothing on AstroLagan is medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. Don't make important decisions based on it alone.
• The app is in an invite-only beta and is free to use during the beta.
• Use it fairly: don't copy, scrape or misuse the service.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By using astrolagan.com, the AstroLagan app or any of our services ("AstroLagan", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use AstroLagan.

2. Who can use AstroLagan

You must be 18 or over to create an account. A parent or guardian may create charts for their children within their own account. During the beta, an account needs an invite code or an approved waitlist place, and we may limit or close access at any time.

3. Your account

• You sign in with Google or your email. Keep access to that account secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
• Give accurate details. Birth details you enter for other people should be entered with their permission.
• Invite codes are personal to share with family and friends. Don't sell them.
• You can download your data or delete your account at any time from your account page.

4. Educational use only, no advice

Astrology is a traditional system of interpretation, not a science, and readings are guidance, not certainties or guarantees. Calculations, yogs, doshes, dashas, transits, chants, remedies, narrations and any other content are shared for learning and reflection. AstroLagan is not a substitute for medical, legal, financial, psychological or other professional advice. For health, legal, money or other important decisions, please consult a qualified professional. Remedies are traditional and optional; you never need to buy anything because of a reading.

5. Accuracy

We work hard to make our calculations correct and check them against established software, but results depend on the birth details entered (an error in time or place can change a chart) and on the methods chosen. We can't promise that every result is complete, error-free or matches every other astrologer or software.

6. Acceptable use

Please don't:

• copy, scrape, download in bulk or resell AstroLagan's content, calculations or narrations;
• reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract our code or server calculations, or get around rate limits or access controls;
• use bots or automated tools to access the service, except as we allow;
• break the law, harass anyone, upload harmful code, or send content that is abusive, misleading or infringes others' rights;
• pretend to be someone else or use another person's account.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

7. Your content and feedback

Charts, life events, questions and other things you add stay yours. You let us store and process them to run the service for you, as described in the Privacy policy. If you send feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve AstroLagan without owing you anything.

8. Our content

The AstroLagan name, logo, design, text, illustrations, narrations, voice recordings and software belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial use of the service, and you may share pictures or reports of your own chart.

9. Consultations with astrologers (private beta)

Questions to astrologers and astrologer applications are not open to everyone yet. While consultations are in private beta, a member can book an approved astrologer through a link the astrologer shares. These terms apply to such a booking.

• Astrologers are independent. They are practitioners we have approved, not our employees. What they say is their own view and guidance for reflection. It is not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice, and nothing is guaranteed. Decide for yourself, and ask a qualified professional about your health, money or legal matters.
• Booking. A booking is a request until the astrologer confirms it. You can have up to 3 open bookings.
• Cancelling. You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the start. After that you can still cancel, but the booking is marked as a late cancellation. If an astrologer cancels, we tell you and you can book another time. While consultations are free during the beta nothing is charged. When payments are switched on, the rules in the next two points apply and are shown before you pay.
• Your details. The astrologer sees the chart you pick, your question, the name you choose and what you tick to share, for 6 months after the consultation. They do not see your email address or phone number and you do not see theirs: please keep your messages on AstroLagan.
• Safety review. The AstroLagan team may read the messages and Remedy plans (Upay) of a consultation to check that nothing harmful is recommended. This happens only for a report, a safety review, a dispute or a random check, and every review is logged. Astrologers agree to this when they join.
• Remedy plan (Upay). An astrologer may give you a written plan of mantras, prayers, charity and habits, with follow-up dates. It is for guidance only: never stop prescribed medicine or skip a doctor's advice because of a plan, and nothing in it is guaranteed. Gemstone and pooja items are always optional and come with a cost note; you never have to buy anything, and an astrologer must not ask you to pay outside AstroLagan. If a plan frightens you or asks for money, use "Report this plan" or write to [email protected]. We screen plans before you see them; the first plans of new astrologers and any flagged plan are read by our team first, and we can withdraw a plan or pause an astrologer at any time. Astrologers agree to this review, to these rules and to the plan screening when they join.
• Calls and recording. Audio and video calls take place on AstroLagan using Daily.co and show only display names. A call is recorded only if both you and the astrologer agree (you can tick it when booking or on the call page before joining; the astrologer agrees for each call). While recording, a "Recording" mark is shown and either of you can stop it. Do not record or capture a call yourself without the other person's consent. Recordings are for the two of you only: free recordings are kept for 7 days, and with AstroLagan Plus for as long as it is active (plus 30 days), then deleted. Plans and notes are kept as long as the account.
• Paying for a consultation (clients). When consultations are paid, the fee is the price the astrologer set, shown in your currency before you pay. You pay AstroLagan through Stripe; the time is held for you for 15 minutes while you pay, and the booking is a request until the astrologer confirms it. Refunds, to your card, in full: if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start, or at any time before the astrologer has confirmed; if the astrologer cancels, does not confirm in time or does not come (tell us within 24 hours of the start); or if we refund it ourselves. No refund: if you cancel less than 24 hours before the start of a confirmed booking, or you do not come. Refunds usually reach your card in 5 to 10 working days. If we have to cancel a booking because the time was taken before your payment arrived, you are refunded in full. Taxes that apply to your purchase, if any, are not added by us at the moment; ask us if you need an invoice.
• Astrologers: payment, commission and payouts. Astrologers are independent contractors, not employees. AstroLagan collects the fee from the client and pays you the fee minus its commission (shown on your Earnings page; the standard rate is set by AstroLagan and the rate that applied to a booking is fixed when it is paid; founding astrologers may have a lower rate for a stated period). The card processing fee is paid out of AstroLagan's commission, not from your share. An earning becomes available 7 days after the consultation is done, if there is no open report, dispute or hold; available amounts are paid once a month by the method you choose (Wise, Interac e-Transfer, PayPal or UPI), in the currency the client paid. We store only the e-mail or UPI ID you give us for this, never bank account numbers. If a consultation is refunded, your share for it is removed, or deducted from your next payout if it was already paid. We may hold or withhold earnings for a dispute, a card chargeback, or a breach of these terms. You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn, including any GST/HST, India GST or TDS that applies to you.
• Respect. Please be courteous. We may close a conversation or an account for abuse, or for advice that frightens people into buying something.

10. Paid features

AstroLagan is free during the beta. Beta members keep every feature free while the beta lasts. Paid plans ("AstroLagan Plus") and one-off items (such as a narrated chart tour) are shown on the Pricing page with the price in your currency before you pay.

• Seller. Payments are handled by Stripe, which is the seller of record. Stripe collects any sales tax, VAT or GST, takes your payment, sends your receipt, and handles disputes. Its terms and privacy policy apply to the payment.
• Subscriptions renew automatically. A monthly or yearly plan renews at the end of each period at the then-current price shown at checkout, until you cancel. A yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers; if you cancel before the trial ends you are not charged.
• Cancel any time. Use Manage billing on your account page. You keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
• Founding member price. Beta members may be offered a lower yearly price, which stays the same for as long as the subscription is not cancelled.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled under Stripe's Managed Payments terms and the consumer law that applies where you live (for example cooling-off periods). To ask for a refund write to [email protected] or use the link on your Stripe receipt.
• Changes. We may change plans and prices for new purchases and renewals, and will tell you before a renewal price rises.

11. Other services

AstroLagan relies on other providers (for example Google sign-in, Supabase, Cloudflare and email delivery) and may link to other sites such as YouTube. Their own terms apply to their services, and we are not responsible for their content.

12. Beta, changes and availability

The beta may change often. Features can be added, changed or removed, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We may end the beta or the service; if we do, we will give you a chance to download your data where we reasonably can.

13. Disclaimer

To the extent the law allows, AstroLagan is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted availability.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on AstroLagan's content. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (during the free beta, that is zero). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.

15. Ending your use

You can stop using AstroLagan and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we have to for legal reasons.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using AstroLagan after that means you accept the updated terms.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without taking away any rights you have under the laws of the place where you live.
